Here are some sample of works done with my students during my Spring 2015 Advanced Photography Class I am organizing in Shanghai. This time, the topic is Student’s portrait with cinematographic lighting.

Ching Magic and Jose Rabbit could be a show in a remote country-side Cabaret, 50 years ago…
Dirk having a splashing test of his product!

Photography needs light to deliver good technical results. In my Advanced Photography Class, I am teaching my students how to use light to create a specific mood and to tell a story.
Here are some results with my students performing fun characters.

Dirk advertising Distilled Water in an old fashion
Joel as a Private investigator, need matches for that big cigar.

With a proper lighting and few accessories, anyone can be turned into a movie star or a funny character.

Joel is perfect in Film Noir set up.

Martin inspired me a science fiction character who could be the hero of a 1950’s comic book…, for adults.

Watzefuk in need of crucial information able to change the destiny of the world
Watzfuk posing like James Bond but he is rated triple 0, being as smart as a bare foot.
Watzefuk fighting his clone: 1 neuron vs 1 neuron.
Students at work behind and in front of their camera.

A Photography Class is very emulating and there is no limits to everyone self derision.

Jose wanted to be every character of the series but “El Pimp” suited him the best.
Pier as Harry Potter says “Ciao” to everybody.
The complete team that day: Ching, Dirk, Harald, Joel, Pier, Martin and Jose.
